Our stay at The Doune was absolutely fantastic. The property has so much character, and every corner feels thoughtfully designed and welcoming. It’s warm, cozy, and has a homely feel that made it so easy to relax. The kitchen was great—really well-equipped, and the Aga was such a nice touch. Outside, the peaceful water feature, fish pond, and immaculate football pitch were all highlights. Having direct access to the bush was incredible for a bit of exploring. There are loads of en-suites, which made the stay even more comfortable, and the stone masonry is stunning. Little details, like the swing and the heirlooms scattered around, gave the whole place so much charm. It’s well-guarded and peaceful, so we felt safe the entire time. Even getting there was smooth with the convenient highway access. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend The Doune to anyone looking for a unique, peaceful getaway!

Away from the city, yet a quick 25 minutes drive to it, Jane’s B&B is nestled away in the most beautiful part of Lochness surrounded by lush green mountains. While the location is perfect, the house itself is glorious, and Jane’s heart and warm aesthetics are present in every single corner of it. The common area (and the room!) always has fresh flowers and three lovely set tables set for breakfast and a comfy couch - all facing the large windows towards the mountains. We saw a rainbow both days we stayed just while sitting there! The house is all Jane, the freshly made slice of cake in the room (a different one for each day), the small bottle of celebratory sherry wine, the fresh flower on the bed side table, coffee cups, the comfy bed that engulfs you - everything PERFECT. It’s hard to explain in words, but I tried :)

The location was simply stunning - surrounded by greenery and sounds of the flowing river. The cottage itself was charming and cozy, with all the amenities one could ask for. The location was perfect for exploring the Scottish Highlands - there were plenty of scenic drives and picturesque places to visit. And when I wanted to relax and unwind, the cottage provided the perfect retreat. Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. We would love to come back someday!
