The staff was exceptional and they allowed for early check-in. Breakfast was varied and had many healthy options to leave you ready for the day! The location was great--relatively secluded and about 2.5 miles from city center... a great walk if you're up for it but the bus is right around the corner.

I booked a lake view room and it was the most beautiful view i could’ve ever imagined. The room was basic but had a balcony, sink and table. The shared bathroom was clean and never busy. The bed was very comfortable. It was in a very central location, close to the train and supermarket.

I had the most incredible stay at this guesthouse with my two brothers! The atmosphere here is simply unbeatable, and it felt like we had stumbled upon a hidden gem. The location is perfect, close to train, bus stations. Also within walking distances to the major attractions such as Reichenbach Falls, Sherlock Holmes Museum, Aare Gorge ,etc. Breakfast was super, with variety of food. Chef Remo cooked eggs for all gusts.

The family-run Hotel Des Alpes is located next to the Muggeseeli nature reserve in the centre of Kandersteg. All rooms have been renovated in 2010 and Wi-Fi is available for free.
