There is a hidden gem on the Nelson side of the crystal marble mountain of Takaka Hill. Veering off State Highway 60 you will follow the 500 meter gravel driveway out onto Kea Ridge. From this family home, you will be greeted by 360 degree views of Kahurangi National Park mountains, Tasman Sea, Nelson skyline, and the Richmond Ranges. The fully insulated 2-storey Macrocarpa clad lodge is 220 square meters and north facing. The lodge is perched on the end of the ridge like it is floating above the valley below. The entire upper floor is the open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas and consists of 120 square meters. Windows wrapping all around let the sun stream in while you enjoy a friendly game of pool. The full wrap around upper and lower decks mean you can enjoy the view in any direction at any time. The lower deck is covered for all weather situations.
The kitchen area has natural timber bench tops throughout, driftwood handles, and plenty of space for 4 to 6 people to comfortably cook up a storm and still be part of the action. Fully kitted out with brand new eco appliances: coffee machine, fridge/freezer/full size oven, gas hob, dishwasher, air fryer, food processor, blender, toaster, griller, and UV water filtration system. Enjoy your feast at the massive family-crafted macrocarpa dining table or the kitchen breakfast bar area.
The open-plan living area with solid timber floors has a divided-off chillax zone with a second smart TV setup. This is a family home that is lived in full time (when you are not here)
Downstairs are 3 full size bedrooms with new king size beds. One of the bedrooms has a king size bed with direct access to the outdoor patio spa area and one of the bathrooms. The two other bedrooms have king size beds and single bunk beds. Two full size tiled bathrooms with toilets, bath, shower, and vanities. Washer and dryer also available. The Jacuzzi hot tub spa can comfortably accommodate 6 adults.
