Old Bazaar Skopje, is one of the oldest and largest bazaars in the Balkans, dating back nearly 500 years, during the Ottoman rule in the 15th century. It is a maze of narrow streets, alleys, and squares, many traditional shops, mosques, churches, caravanserais, and hammams (Turkish baths) still standing today. The stone-paved streets are lined with shops selling antiques, jewelry, handicrafts, spices, traditional clothing, and souvenirs, attracting both locals and tourists. One of the most prominent landmarks in the bazaar is the Mustafa Pasha Mosque, also known as the Colorful Mosque, the Kursumli Han, a former caravanserai turned cultural center, the Bezisten, a covered market that once served as a trade hub for textiles, and the Kapan Han, which used to provide accommodation for visiting merchants.
