Situated in the heart of a large private cardamom plantation, Elakai (cardamom in Malayalam) ticks off every item on your hill-station retreat list. A short drive away from Munnar town, this charming two-bedroom property offers spectacular views of rolling tea gardens and the exquisite lake below. If you're looking to head away from the madding crowd, to get out of those traffic jams & generally clear your head, Elakai is exactly where you need to be. Surrounded by green cardamom, with panoramic views all around, Elakai is all about disconnecting with your everyday and taking time out to smell the roses, quite literally. ​Huge glass windows in the spacious lounge and the bedrooms look out over the trees to a view of quintessential Munnar, albeit without the crowds. Make your way down for a boat ride at the lake below - views of which you get from the balcony. Or head out trekking through the cardamom plantation, getting to learn firsthand how that perfect little cardamom finally turns up on your kitchen shelf.
