    The location was superb with the local ammenities within walking distance for those that can, the views across to Gods own country were excellent. I think the owners maybe missing a trick, a ramp from front bedroom around to the rear utility door...

Property information

Redway Lodge is an impressive and spacious property with stunning views across the vale to Porlock Bay. There are 4 bedrooms, each with en-suite, and can sleep 12 guests. The sitting room has large comfortable sofas and smart TV. A smaller sitting room has been dedicated as children's playroom, it's well stocked with games, toys and puzzles to help keep kids entertained. The kitchen includes a dining table that can seat 8 and the smaller table can seat 4. The utility is off the kitchen. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor; one double bedroom with en-suite comprising a bath, separate shower, toilet, and hand basin. The other ground bedroom has king-size double bed plus bunk beds, and en-suite comprising a shower, toilet, and hand basin. The staircase leads upstairs and opens into a large hallway with comfortable seating. French doors open onto the balcony which has fantastic views of the coast. The upstairs bedrooms are configured to each sleep up to 3 guests and each with their own bathroom. There's also a permanent wooden cot situated in the 'baby bedroom' off one of these bedrooms.

Neighbourhood information

The parish church is dedicated to St Dubricius and dates back to the 13th Century. The medieval manorial dower house contains a museum of local history. A short walk away are playing fields and a park in Porlock village. Porlock Hill is notorious for its steepness but it can be by-passed if you use the toll road which boasts beautiful views. Porlock Weir is nearby and is a picturesque hamlet. Once a busy port, it is now a peaceful harbour for yachts and fishing boats. Here is also a good starting point for walks to Porlock Marsh and Culbone - home to England's smallest church. The Coleridge Way, a 36 mile walking route, ends in Porlock. Porlock is also home to the roaster of famous tea and coffee producer DJ Miles, whose coffees are roasted daily in Porlock, their roastery shop can be visited. Other great places to visit include Lynton and Lynmouth - connected by a cliff railway; Watermouth Castle; Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park; Steam railway starting in Minehead; Greencombe Gardens and Marwood Hill Gardens to name a few. Bossington boasts lovely walks and a tea room at Selworthy do a fabulous cream tea.
