Set in Fujikawaguchiko, less than 1 km from Lake Kawaguchi, HOSTEL MICHIKUSA-YA offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The dormitory has 12 people capacity but it is not fully used on purpose, in order to keep the place comfortable for all guests. The Mt Fuji view from the shared space/garden is spectacular in the morning, on a clear day (see my pic). Hostel is located in a quite neighborhood a bit out of the tourist attractions, 15-20 minutes walk from the bridge. I stayed there for two nights and rented a bike for 2 days so I can ride back to the hostel. Would definitely stay again.

The restrooms and shower facilities were clean and well-maintained, and to top it off, there was even an open-air bath. It was the perfect way to unwind and soothe my travel fatigue. This is a place I would love to return to as a base for exploring Asuke.
