As we arrived in Rovaniemi late at night, it went smoothly with self check-in. Taxi from the airport to Tikka Hostel was 21eur, so we were happy about our decision not to stay in Rovaniemi city center, which is more far away from the airport. If you don't have heavy luggage distance from the airport even wokable, there is a side walk. Hostel is very cozy, very clean, and warm. Comfy beds. Either sound isolation was good, or we were happy with neighbors. Common kitchen has pots, pan, plates, cups, cuttlery, and water kettle. There is no reception, self check-in, and check-out with the code. So, if you need to deal about your luggage storage, you need to contact in advance if there is a possibility. Many thanks for letting us keep our bags for a couple of hours after check-out. Hostel is close to Santa Claus village. We walked in 30 minutes, and you can even choose different paths. The bus stop to the city center and railway station is just outside the hostel, which was very convenient. Communication through chat was super quick.

Clean rooms, as in the photos I had seen before booking. The hostel is 15 minutes on foot from the train station, 3 minutes from the No8 bus stop that takes you to Santa Claus village and 5 minutes from the center (Lordi square). The girl who worked at the hostel very kind and willing to inform you about moving around the city, activities that need a reservation (northern lights hunting, visiting a reindeer or husky farm)

The host was very accommodating for our late arrival, and we were able to do everything on our own. This was our first hostel stay, and we were impressed: aside from sharing a bathroom, which many westerns are not used to, but did go fine, everything was very comfortable, clean, and it was in a beautiful location. I would love to return during the summer months when we could see the surroundings a little better, but the winter month was still absolutely incredible. I will always wonder, however, why Norwegian moose cannot seem to read road signs properly, and always cross at the Caribou signs. ;)
