The place has a very nice atmosphere, a genius loci if you will. You can feel that the owner does what he does with his heart and honestly, that right there made the stay for me. After quite a long bike ride it was all we could have wished for: warm friendly environment, clean bed with a nice matress, great food (best fish and chips I've ever had) and nice people running the place. It's a great value for money, I'd definitely recommend this place!

I had a very nice and comfortable, wonderful experience at Shiokaze Guesthouse for a week. The acommodation is very clean, has a laundry and drying machine, a kitchen with fridge and microwave... it's less than a 10 minute walk to the area of restaurants. And Emi-san is lovely, helpful and a pleasure to meet. 恵美さん、色々ありがとうございました!

Right on the Shimanami Kaido trail, with a good Family Mart next door. Possibly the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Towels provided, you can bring your own food and drink into the cafe space, but their own food is delicious too and not badly priced. Staff friendly and helpful.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
