After being away for 17 years, I decided to treat myself to a weekend back home, and this spot in La Gaulette was absolutely perfect. The apartment was very clean, well equipped, and exactly as shown in the photos. The view from the balcony overlooking the lagoon and Le Morne is simply breathtaking I spent hours just admiring the scenery. Communication with the owner was smooth and friendly, and I felt genuinely welcomed from the moment I arrived. It’s peaceful, authentic, and perfectly located if you want to explore the south or simply relax. I’ll definitely be coming back this stay reminded me why I missed Mauritius so much.

It was peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind. But what made our stay truly special were the hosts, Stephane and Diane. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with warmth and kindness, always ready to help and make us feel at home. Their care and attention to detail made us feel less like guests and more like family. We also absolutely loved their adorable dog, Fluffy, and their lovely son, Ruben, who brought even more joy to our experience.

We had a wonderful time and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Matthieu is very kind, attentive and prompt.

Probably the most fantastic accommodation we have ever had in our 5 years travelling. In order: breathtaking view on the benitiers island, rooftop with barbecue with a 360 view on Le Morne and the wild forest, star gazing, bats and birds everywhere, fruits offered, private balcony with everything from coffee to all amenities and laundry. Top care by the cleaning lady, felt like a 5 star resort everyday. Close to the best beach on the island for snorkeling. We also had a private boat tour with an amazing guide by Bianca, learnt so much from the island as he has years of experience living here. Keep it up!

Excellent staff and very convenient location.

This beachfront property offers access to a patio and free private parking. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. When we first stumbled upon this accommodation, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Our hosts, Annick and Jean-Pierre, are the most thoughtful, gracious hosts (even when we called Annick for the pad key number which she had already sent us - twice!). They provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around the place. The spot is absolutely magic, with a view to die for overlooking not only the lagoon but also a UNESCO site mountain. It is just perfect! The place is compact and contains everything one needs. The bed is super comfortable, the outside shower is something one must not miss, and the quaint veranda overlooking the lagoon is excellent. I know I am repeating myself, but the location is just incredible - you literally hear the waves licking against the side of the room at night and wake up with a lagoon literally at your feet. Annick had excellent restaurant recommendations and for the overall area, and was of great help. Thanks Annick and Jean-Pierre for opening the doors of Harmonie to us. We had a wonderful weekend and will be back for sure (we will order some extra sun next time)

All staff were so welcoming, kind and attentive. The place is beautiful and cosy. For those who are seeking a peaceful and quiet stay, this is perfect. The location is also ideal to adventure to beaches and natural parks. Definitely recommend this place!

Located on the West Coast of Mauritius Island, Le Gite du Bonheur Guest House & Car Rental is a self catering guest house located in Tamarin, at the foot of the popular La Tourelle Mountain and a 5 minutes drive to Tamarin Bay Beach. The Guest house has a fully equiped kitchen, an infinity pool, a fitness centre, steam room, a spa and laundry facilities. Le Gite du Bonheur Guest House & Car Rental also offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking. Beautiful property, spacious and well decorated. Big swimming pool and jacuzzi that we all enjoyed very much. Well-equipped gym. We used the hammam facilities and the massage therapists were excellent.

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the guest house free of charge. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a year-round outdoor pool. 5 min walk to beach and market and restaurants. Hosts were very attentive and kind. Studio was clean and had all the amenities described.
