The owners were friendly and helpful. Pool surrounded by coconut trees and you can watch as the fearless coconut man climbs a tree and shimmies across the ropes from one tree to another placing pots to collect the toddy. We were given drinks to try .. delicious the food was good too especially the coconut honey . Great place to relax away from everything . The cabin was huge with seating area inside and outside to watch the squirrels running around .

There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. The Backwaters lodge has everything that a naturelover is looking for. We really had the best time here in the middle of nowhere close to the Wilpattu National Park. The staff is really helpfull and very friendly, the rooms are right into nature but still have the luxury of having warm water and AC, great and an extended breakfast and dinner, I can go on and on. If you want to go on a safari at Wilpattu they can arrange a private jeep for you (which is a must do ofcourse). Further to fill in your time you can just hang out at the beautifull chillspots on the ponds or in the jungle or you could go kayaking with the kayaks available at the lodge. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the lodge a little more.

We arrived in Puttalam after pushing against heavy winds for more than 80km. Tired and stinking actually. Bassam, the owner and care taker of Just Inn, spoke and helped us secure the bicycles. Just inn is a kind of AirBnB or simple and beautiful homestay for any tourist. We stayed that night, tidied ourselves. Bassam rode us in his tuk tuk to the salt flats near by and later we went to a one of its- state of the art - kind of small veg hotel for dinner. We both are lifelong vegeterians. Just Inn is a simple and beautiful homestay. Clean and comfortable stay - like a home - one night or 10 nights - the experience is lively. Anyone who wish to stay there can ask Bassam about our endurance journey in SriLanka. Even though we spent very short time there at Bassam’s place.. a strong bonding was made and I think we will remember each other for a lifetime.. Thank you Bassam for everything…

We spent a week there, and their genuine kindness truly left a lasting impression. We're so grateful for the extra care they showed us throughout our stay.

We booked The Sanctuary half an hour before arriving and we were warmly greeted at the door by the owner Siraj. Siraj's passion for environmental protection is incredible. His knowledge of the ecology of the area is huge. Siraj and his team provided us with first class hospitality, beautiful food and a fully organized safari we will never forget (for a very competitive price). Extras like plentiful home grown bananas, a night tour of the grounds (seeing flying foxes and mouse deer) and free photos of what we saw on safari were the icing on the cake. It was a privilege to have stayed at The Sanctuary and we left enriched. I would not hesitate to return here in future.

Such a clan and nicely decorated place and super comfortable beds, comforter and fluffy pillows on a soft bed. just what we needed! Also about as close as you can get to the rickshaw run start line so was a super location for us. No hot water but we didn’t even miss it.

Guests can use the hot spring bath, or enjoy garden views. Super friendly family looked after us with delicious food and nice clean space to stay. Location was great and they even helped book us transport to our next leg of the journey. Would recommend
