Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. Staff were great and friendly! They run a small cafe too so can get some decent coffee anytime. The lounge was ghibli themed and cosy with lots of suggestions for food and activities! Dorm room was as expected, lots of room for luggage.

Undoubtedly, this place was one of the best accommodations I have been. The place is spotless. Seiko is a Super Host. She was very helpful to my request. Getting out of the train station you can turn to the left and after crossing the railway it is a two-minutes walk, there is a mini supermarket just in front of the accommodation and a big supermarket 4 minutes up the main road. The Villa is so adorable, if you have time for a little stroll, you will enjoy it. I strongly recommend it.

They are both deeply passionate about Tokoname artists and will be able to give you a lot of information about them. They delivered an authentic experience of living in a Japanese household. I spent three nights at B&B Legare. Eri was an excellent host. Not only friendly and warm, she actually took the trouble of planning an itinerary for me. Every night she brought me to a different onsen and we had dinner out together. For my day trip to Gujo Hachiman she drove me to the bus station and made sure I bought the right ticket and boarded the right bus. The B&B is not close to the city centre so everyday she sent and picked me up from the city centre. If not for Eri I wouldn’t have been able to experience as much as I did in Gifu; she brought me to places I otherwise would find challenging to get to get to and I learnt more about Gifu and Japanese culture from her. Also the room I had at B&B was very comfortable and spacious and I slept so very well on the futon.
