Old place with plenty of history, situated very centrally on the main road of Fujiyoshida. We were told that, Mt. Fuji is even visible from the common room in clear weather. The shared toilet is very nice. The shared bathroom looked nice, which even had a small board tl reserve a timeslot. You book this place to experience a real old japanese house. Highly recommended!

Guest House Zen is a beachfront property situated in Yamanakako, 18 km from Fuji-Q Highland and 21 km from Lake Kawaguchi. The 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Excellent facility, the set up is so relaxed, the owner is sooo cool. We fed the couple of swans and a few ducks that were out on the waterfront, the view is out of this world. We drove and the parking was easy to negotiate the location position it is not noisy and you can hear the water birds and other birds chirping. As the name says (ZEN) it truely is. Also the convenience store is only about 8 minutes walk away. Coming back from the store we visited a shrine that was having its annual summer festivities, kids were doing a Sumo fight next to the temple, the staff at the temple were inviting, also the men of the town were carrying a traditional Japanese float around the town then back to temple, up the stairs under Tori gate and to the front of the temple, ( the float is very heavy so is fun to see the guys struggling, but they get it up there. Its a once in a lifetime chance to see traditional Japanese culture.

We got green tea on arrival. and transferred us and our luggage to the train station. He was very nice, even though we were a bit troublesome (complications with arrival time etc.) The view was also beautiful, I hope I can come back for a longer period here.

Fuji. The free bikes is an amazing idea, it’s easy to get around with it and you can do a lot of things in the area! i loved every bits of my trip.

Hana is very friendly and she even gv us our photo as a memory. My daughter was reluctant to stay initially when i said it was shared bathroom but she was so happy with the hostel after we stayed in. Location also very good. Definitely recommended!

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Nice communal kitchen and bathroom areas. Beds are a bit hard (for a side sleeper), but you might get two mattresses :) Loved the room. Wonderful and very friendly and helpful host. Location is rather off the beaten track - and we loved that. Easy walking or rent a bicycle. For arrival and departure, the wonderful host will drive you from/to train station. Contacting her via Whatsup is best - just a hint! A number of restaurants within walking distance. Loved the residential neighborhood with rice fields that Guesthouse En is located in - so beautiful.
