The room was super clean, with large and very comfortable beds. The bathroom was excellent, with its own shower tray and glass screen – not the typical Sri Lankan style where the whole floor gets wet. This made it much more comfortable for us as Europeans. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. The only small point is that to reach the city center you need to take a tuk-tuk, but that was not a problem for us.

It is such a beautiful property with the most kind, helpful and welcoming host family. The food is absolutely incredible and suggested activities for each day were well thought out. Beautiful property that felt like our own little oasis. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The shower was excellent too. Breakfast was served at your requested time and the owner offered to cook us a Sri Lankan breakfast that was really good. The location does require a tuk tuk in and out of Kandy central but you can down load the pick me app to get local rates to keep costs down. Excellent stay and highly recommended.

The views and the building itself are stunning, a real wow factor! The pool is over the track and down some steps, it’s breathtaking turning the corner and seeing that view. The food was great, and the service also amazing. The property is 16km from the centre of Kandy- this was perfect for us as we were looking for quiet and relax. It would be easy for the hotel to assist in a car or tuk tuk for you. The house is high, the drive is beautiful. Our driver made it in our minivan but I was a little nervous… it’s not an easy road. But nothing that’s unusual for Sri Lanka to be honest!The hotel does have a tuk tuk and they can assist with collecting you from the bottom of the hill so you will be able to reach it. It was just a bit of a shock for us as we hadn’t realised how high up it was. Totally worth it though! Thank you so much your amazing hospitality I’m so glad we found The Grove.

The perfect place to escape the busy city of Kandy, that is easily accessible by tuktuk. Waking up in the middle of nature, with all the birds singing was amazing. Nimesh is a very welcoming and kind host, always trying to make your stay the most comfortable as possible. Thank you:)

The staff and the owner were lovely - all very kind and helpful. Out room was clean and comfortable. The view was very nice, we managed to see a wild porcupine, wild pigs, wild monkeys and some squirrels just from the terrace. The food (they also offer dinner) was very good, too. The location is a bit out of town, but if you want some quite and enjoy fresh air it’s the best you can do. I totally recommend. Another plus: The owner will help you book any sorts of trips for a reasonable price.
