The host was so thoughtful in the way he arranged the house and prepared useful items for our stay in the house. From a drying rack/laundry clips, to cooking utensils and various sauces and condiments, to additional bedding, we had everything we needed.

Breakfast was so awesome. The owner lady got up early in the morning and she prepared a Japanese-style breakfast with warm care. I was able to use the sauna even after the breakfast, so I had a pleasant meal and enjoyed the sauna. I left after enjoying a very good rest in hospitality that I can't feel anywhere else in Japan. The bedding in the room was comparable to a 5-star hotel. All the usable spaces were really clean and organized, so just looking at them made me feel good. The usable space is very large compared to typical accommodations in Japan.

The owner is great kind person. Upon arrival his advices about what to see and try to eat during visit helped a lot. The atmosphere between other tourists was really pleasant. The e-mail about instructions how to enter in case of late arrival were sent by owner in advance. You can use all bath supplies, there is a washing machine, breakfast includes tea or cofee, bread, butter, jams and eggs. The bed is comfortable, room is warm and cozy. It was like visiting friends. The guest house is situated in few minutes from train/ bus station, and shop street. There is a combini nearby. Comparing to everything that is included in price, its location, and a friendly owner, its more than a great place.

The owner was super welcoming and friendly! He even gave us a gift (a painting he made himself!) just before we departed. The Guest House itself was very unique and traditional. It was comfortable with heaters around the house to keep you warm, and a cute cat to roaming about.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in Japan by far, and this was my 5th trip to the country. We booked the traditional Japanese room and it exceeded our expectations tenfold. It was super spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The host Hanneke was so lovely and helpful as well. I could have stayed for a month! Arita is a beautiful town well worth visiting if you have any interest in ceramics.

This was wonderful location to stay. The both kindly hosts and the family were so lovely and engaged in our satisfaction. The phantastic food and the great chance to join breakfast and dinner together was unique. We enjoyed the time in oniwa very much !!

Ideal in every sense - there is nothing remotely comparable in Arita. On every level, an ideal location to stay. If you are interested in ceramics, well, welcome to heaven on earth. I liked this little hotel. The room was in a traditional style. There was a nice bathroom and a washing machine. There was a kettle, but there was nothing else for cooking. The location is excellent. The administrator is friendly. The internet was working well
