The son and mother running the guesthouse were wonderful. It's a beautiful location, and because it is fairly far from the station, the son picked us up in his van at the station. We did have to call him to get us (which we knew ahead of time), so it's important to have the capability to do so or otherwise arrange it with the guesthouse host. We thoroughly enjoyed the onsen at the hotel with included yukatas and our very spacious room (had a heater/AC as well!). The sheets and yukatas and towels were impeccably clean and pressed. The son and mother had a lovely cafe with free beverages downstairs, and they also had a wonderful breakfast we paid for in the morning. I feel this guesthouse is truly a hidden gem and highly recommend it to anyone considering it. Easily one of the best places I have stayed at in Japan. My husband and I were so charmed during the whole experience.

The owner was extremely friendly and adaptable to my situation, she was very kind and even let me keep my bags at the property ling after checkout time so that I could explore more of kyoto. The beds are comfortable as well as the toilet and shower facilities.

I loved this place. It was so clean and quiet and the manager couldn't have been more helpful . A real pleasure to work with . Transport links into Kyoto were pretty good too with 20-30 trains every few minutes. Kitchen well stocked , washing machine and even provided a free parking space for my scooter. And best of all a lovely , comfy bed .

Even though it was just a short 2-night, 3-day trip, this place made me feel like I had been living in Kyoto for ages. The hotel’s traditional Japanese wooden architecture was really fascinating, and staying there was such a unique experience. I was a bit worried the room might be too small, but it was perfectly comfortable for two people. The bathroom facilities were especially amazing, so if you’re someone who enjoys bathing, I’d highly recommend this place. The host, Kevin, was super friendly and easy to communicate with, and he quickly took care of any requests we had. He really went above and beyond. Everything—from the Wi-Fi and hot water to the heating, bedding, and cleanliness—was spot on, with no issues at all. Plus, the location was fantastic. It’s right in the city center, so you can easily walk to major spots like Kiyomizu-dera, Pontocho, and Gion, which also saved us some transportation costs. I’d definitely come back to stay here on my next Kyoto trip!

I can’t say enough good things about this stay! Firstly, this exceptional stay is 100% down to the most kind and welcoming hosts. The couple who run this inn have helped us the whole time during our stay and been the most accommodating, I’m very grateful to have found this place. The room itself is very cosy and clean. The location is very central, everything was within 15mins walk or bus. Would recommend packing light as there are only stairs, but the hosts very kindly helped us with our luggage.
