Posada Don Julio is a fantastic place to stay, offering breathtaking views of the lake. The house is practically on the water, creating a serene and unique atmosphere. The family running the posada is incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s important to note that the house is not located in Flores itself but on the opposite side of the lake. To get there, you’ll need to take a small local boat that runs every five minutes for just 10Q. This adds an extra touch of charm and adventure to your stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. While the WiFi is typical for Guatemala—not very strong—it’s enough for basic needs around 5-6 Mbps Overall, it’s a wonderful experience for those looking to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the lake and the warmth of local hospitality. Highly recommended!

Lovely and clean, new renovations and USB plugs even. Spacious and although shared toilet, only 1 other room there. Perfect location for ferry (car and person) to and from Flores (advise this is driving rather than the road in and only costs £3 (Q30). Hosts are lovely and so helpful ensuring you are treated like a local. Rooms are spacious and airy and the fan is sufficient to keep you cool as minimal windows.

A great house in a gated community opposite the airport and next door to a good shopping mall. Clean and well equipped comminal kitchen. Ample room with comfy bed, nice linens and hot water in the shower. Airconditioningnin room was perfect. Streaming options available to log into on the Smart TV. Excellent secure parking.

Great to have use of the kitchen and kayaks. They are part of a partnership of a couple other hostels so we were able to use the laundry, kayaks etc of the others. Great location and friendly staff

A lot of facilities including a washer and dryer which was incredibly helpful. Spacious place with a huge terrace. There were also thoughtful things like sunscreen, aloe vera skincare, insect repellent in the common area for those who needed it. The first room we had was spacious with its own attached bathroom. We decided to stay another night but could not get the same room but the staff members were very helpful to move everything to the new room (we were out in tikal!). Communication was good.

Clean, Air con great, pillows and bed comfy. Hosts good Locations good. I was worried because they only had one review.. but booked because price was good and it was very good value for money! Not sure why they don’t have more reviews but would stay again for sure.

The staff were great. Also was happy to be able to use the washing machine and hang laundry out to dry. Island is small so location was only a 5 minute walk to the "main drag". Close to places to eat and places to pick up small items. They even provided coffee with the coffee maker. Fridge in room and a shared full kitchen on the upper deck.
