The hostess is really friendly and will help with anything you need, from logistics to rentals or tours. The breakfast she makes each day is excellent and rotates between four main meals. You even get a welcome drink on arrival! The location is great, surrounded by greenery but still close to restaurants, markets, and the Finca Magdalena approach to Maderas volcano. We stayed five nights and we’d happily stay again!

A lovely family runs the place and makes sure you have everything you need. Rooms are basic but comfortable, A few blocks from the main area of town, which made for a peaceful and quiet night.

Danilo was helpful in every aspect. Whether it was getting a great deal for a scooter, or recommendations on where to eat or what activities were available, he was on top of it all. Guests at the guest house will be able to enjoy activities in and around Balgue, like cycling. Great shared spaces, the lake is accessible right at the back of the property for a fresh swim with locals, the staff are really friendly and helpful and have food, scooters, etc on offer for reasonable price. Balgue was a great location for tranquility but proximity to attractions of Ometepe. Cute dogs :) good value for money.

Friendliest and sweetest accommodating hosts, the prices couldn't be beat, and it was really an incredible location for what we wanted: peaceful, close enough to run down the hill to the beach, proximity to the famous Ojo de Agua can't be beat. Great, affordable motorcycles available to rent on-site, the most comfortable hammocks! Very private and perfect for couples or families who are looking to experience Ometepe's incredible nature in a well-placed, authentic setting. If we ever return to Ometepe we will be back!

Featuring luggage storage space, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, full-day security and free WiFi. I left two pouches with my passport, money, and everything important I was traveling with at the Guest House Nena when I departed to take a ferry back to San Jorge. I had no idea I had left them! They were under a sheet on the bed that I had inadvertently covered them with. After the people at the Guesthouse found my pouches and their valuable contents, they looked around for me, and the young lady from the Nena eventually ended up boarding ferry before we left and asked for me. Fortunately, she found me. I thanked her profusely and gave her a hug. I was extremely happy and grateful to have my stuff and to have adverted a semi-disaster. I owe that girl and the Guest House Nena in Moyogalpa….
