ASKIESBOS - Samochima Bush Camp está en Shakawe, a 2 min a pie de Krokovango Crocodile Farm, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. Askiesbos was one of the best places we stayed on our 3-week trip to Botswana. We stayed in one of the river tents with the outdoor bathroom and everything was very clean, with convenient places to put your things, like soap and toiletries. The common areas are comfy, with tea and coffee and filtered/purified water available on-tap. The view over the pan-handle papyrus whilst sat on a sofa was brilliant. We spotted a handful of birds just from there! Our excursions were booked ahead of time and were not only value for money but were brilliant. If you are interested in birds, ask for Lucky as your guide. We saw over 60-bird species in just two days spent with him (panhandle tour and Tsodilo hills walk). The accommodation is a little out of the way, but fully accessible from the main road and we were able to organise a pick-up from the bus stop also. Overall, fantastic stay - highly recommend.

Although the pick up was just under £8 to get into the town for supplies and return was double this and really added to the bill. Although it was value for money because we took a while shopping, it was something to consider. We liked that it was available though. The room was very modern. The place was very secure and safe.

I could run out of superlatives to describe how good the Nako Okavango river camp is. What they have created here is hard to believe. A beautiful set of tent cabins set beside the river. (Camping available also). Everything used in the building and grounds are top quality, the carpentry and building are excellent, water pressure, swimming pool, security lights; nothing has been skimped on. The main restaurant/bar area looks out over the river and the cabins are in a wide arc along the banks under flowing trees. Inside the cabins are comfy beds with top quality linen, doonas, blankets and pillows with draping mosquito nets. Flaps on the flywire windows can be opened for the air and views. Very hot water showers, fridge and a deck with chairs to sit out on. I have to mention the greatest assets are Mike the owner and manager Regina. Mike is such a larger than life fellow with many interesting and humorous stories of an amazing life. He’s also a quality chef and made 3 wonderful dinners for us. They are both so friendly and helpful and really made our stay wonderful. Regina can also do clothes washing if needed. They also organised a Mokoro canoe trip for us, which was really worthwhile. And directed us to the Duck cafe near the airport, best coffee in Maun! It’s about 15 minutes outside Maun just off the bitumen road, there is a large sign on the highway. The short dirt road in was hard packed and easily passable in our 2wd corolla.

Extremely clean, well kept, excellent price, helpful staff, nice breakfast for additional reasonable charge upon request. Safe neighborhood, nice to have microwave and frig. Less than 1/2 the cost of many regular hotels in area, making it worthwhile to pay for a cab to take us for shopping, restaurants. Front desk called cabs for us, was less than $3 ride downtown. Very nice, very reasonable, simple guesthouse in a regular safe little Botswanan neighborhood.
