A highlight stay for us. The location and view overlooking the bay from this grand property were stunning. The house itself is not new but it’s not old, impeccably clean with everything you need and parking on site. The hosts were absolutely delightful and helped us with restaurant choices. Lovely traditional room with an extremely sweet and friendly host. Everything was very clean and especially the onsen was wonderful to use~ The location is also great to visit the nearby Kumano Nachi Taisha.

3min walk from the JR station. Clean simplistic furnishings Muji style but has all the things needed, even a portable night lamp. Has only 2 exclusive rooms on the 3rd floor. 2nd floor is the bathroom and toilet, open pantry and relax chill corner. Ground floor is a co-working space. Family mart is 7 min walk away and the fish auction market was also within short walking distance. Place was quiet after 5pm but staff had recommended a good sushi restaurant that I enjoyed.

I highly recommend travellers to stay at this guest-house, especially if you want to experience Japanese country life. People in shimosato are friendly, and the owners were kind and answered questions in time. The house is kept clean, and has a very nice space for cooking.

The guest house was so beautiful, the host was so kind and lovely, the location was great, really everything was perfect!

Location was excellent. Shared kitchen, microwave, kettle etc so you can self-cater with food from supermarket (next door). Very comfortable rooms with Japanese style bedding - new build so everything clean and modern. Hostess is lovely and communicates through a language translation app.

I was very fortunate to be able to reserve this room. As the name suggests, it is a converted warehouse, but the space inside is very spacious and comfortable, and up to four people should be able to relax. The owner of the house was very warm, and even made a special trip to pick us up at the station, and provided information including restaurants, attractions, etc., which was very helpful for our trip.
