A Perfect 10-Star Escape at Saudafell Guesthouse! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Saudafell Guesthouse, and I must say, it was an absolutely perfect experience. In fact, I would have loved nothing more than to extend my stay indefinitely! From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcome. The hospitality here is second to none, and it's evident that the hosts go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. But the real highlight of my stay was the breakfast shared with the host. It was not just a meal; it was an incredible experience that was both delicious and entertaining. The stories and conversation that flowed were delightful, and it felt like spending time with an old friend. Saudafell Guesthouse is situated on a beautiful farm, and being there felt like a true escape. The picturesque surroundings, complete with grazing sheep and the company of lovely border collies, were simply amazing. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic, rural way of life. The hosts are true people of the land, and they graciously open their world to their guests. It's a rare and unforgettable chance to participate in their lifestyle. Host is very generous. He lets us upgrade room type without any extra charge. The room is good. And dinner is very delicious! We strongly recommend this hotel!

The stay absolutely exceeded our expectations. We booked a cabin for a one-night stay after our long road trip from the northern region. The staff was exceptionally friendly; she even introduced us to the charming small town and the information about the stores and restaurants that are still open for business during winter. If you prefer cooking, there is a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely greenhouse available for shared use. Some comments mentioned that the room was too small. While it is true, it was more than enough for just sleeping. The beds (and the pillows) were the most comfortable ones we had during our 16-day trip in Iceland. We would absolutely recommend this place to others who are planning to visit the Westfjords and are looking for a convenient stop on the way to the west side. Oh - and the kind staff even remind us to go out to catch the stunning northern light! :D
