We were the first guests at this accommodation, and Peter and his whole family treated us wonderfully. They made everything easy for us and were very attentive. There are still a couple of small details to finish, but the stay is pleasant and it has everything you need. It’s a pity we couldn’t go see the sunrise from their rice terrace.

This is not ordinary accommodation. It’s a truly local experience with a local family. They welcomed us with a smile and they let us feel like part of the family. Facilities are basic but there are all the essentials: WiFi working well, comfy bed, (we had a private) bathroom with running water on toilet and a (cold) shower, a tasty meal prepared by the family. They speak good English and even the daughters do! The location is a bit outside the centre of the town and on a hill, but we liked walking around cheered by locals to watch the village life going on. We would definitely go back again. Highly recommend staying here with Teldy and his family! Located in a beautiful small village amongst the hills and rice fields. Everyone was so welcoming! We got invited for coffee with one of the neighbours and had a lovely chat with Teldy in the morning over breakfast. Teldy’s wife Relyn also runs a great Homestay in Labuan Bajo! We got invited again for coffee when we got back to Labuan Bajo even though they were fully booked and we couldn’t stay there. Super welcoming local family!!

Once you step in, you don’t want to step out anymore of Chacha homestay. I had such a great time here, accompanied by the awesome host Jofans and his wife Yayuk. It’s rare to find such a warm space in the colder weather of Ruteng. I recommend Chacha homestay more than any other homestay I encountered in Indonesia, as I’m becoming emotional because I have to leave in a moment.
