Location and setting of hotel and outdoor onsen. Kaiseki dinner was impressive and performance ( singing) of owner well placed to set the scene in the great dining room. Very friendly and attentive staff. View of external onsen mind blowing!

If you're looking to escape into nature and get away from stressful environments, this is the perfect place. Ōboke is ideal for hiking, enjoying the natural scenery, and tasting the local tea. Ryu is an excellent host and was always available with tips and suggestions. I had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We liked everything about Riviera Iya Valley! The comfortable beds with duvet, the light shade of the wooden walls, the kitchen, the location and most of all our kind host Ryu. We went out kayaking on the river, Ryu is a great teacher, adapting to each person’s level. We also went hiking Mt Kumini with Ryu, a steep but most agreable walk.

Great hotspring hotel in a beautiful area. Exceptionally helpful staff, quiet room with river/forest view, and relaxing hotspring. Also convenience store and Montbell outdoor shop down the road. Staff were above-and-beyond friendly and helpful.

Obviously amazing location. The bed was comfy and the bath was really nice. Although the stand out aspect was the staff, they were super nice and friendly. The man offered us his umbrella when it was raining and the woman even rang the boat tour company and soba noodle making place to check availability for us. The communal space is also great with the option to place super old school Nintendo games.

Amazing location on the river. Friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful, modern and clean house. I hired the e-bikes too - they were great fun on the mountain roads!

We loved the remote location. The dome tent was very comfortable, clean and warm. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
