We had a wonderful stay at Casa Picva, located right beneath the walls of Obidos’ old city, directly across from a small gate leading into the historic town. The location couldn’t have been more convenient, and the private parking right by the house’s main entrance made things even easier. Joao, our host, was absolutely charming and welcoming. Upon arrival, he greeted us with two cups of homemade Ginjinha, the famous local cherry liqueur, which was a lovely personal touch. He then took the time to show us around the historical house and its beautiful garden, which has been in his wife’s family for six generations. As he explained the stories behind the pictures, furniture, and other historical items in the house, you could really feel how proud and emotional he is about preserving this legacy. He also thoughtfully provided us with a map of the town, highlighting recommended restaurants and must-see spots. Our room at Casa Picva was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a bed that ensured a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was served in the dining room, shared with another couple who was also staying in the house. While the breakfast was simple, it had everything we needed and felt just right for starting the day.

Surrounded by lush gardens only 200 metres from the Alcobaça Monastery, this elegant boutique hotel is situated in a historic mansion. It features a Spa and Wellness Centre and free Wi-Fi in public areas. The breakfast was beautiful. Tea making facilities in the bedroom.

All the thematic rooms are inspired by the region and have a large balcony and nice views to the surrouding área. Villas in turn are a new tipology (inaugurated in 2023) specially designed for families and long turn stays. Villas are pet friendly and have a terrace with a relaxing area. Breakfast was really good, indoor swimming pool very nice and decent size and temperature and super nice schedules of closing and opening specially for parents with kids, that want to try enjoy it after bedtime.

Each room at Vila D'Óbidos offers an elegant and contemporary décor and includes artworks of national artists. All rooms include a mini-bar and private bathroom, and some offer a terrace. The room was clean well decorated and we slept well in the bed. There was a fridge and a safe for your valuables. The bathroom was fully equipped and a reasonable size. Breakfast you could have a full English or Continental and you helped yourself. The pool was of a good size and clean. There was a good lounge with a bar.

Boasting a total of 3 meeting rooms with natural light, designed to host professional and social meetings and events. We loved our stay. It was very rainy weather and it was so nice having a central location to come and go from. We had just come from a bad experience at an AirBNB and we were overjoyed when we walked into the hotel. The staff was wonderful and the restaurant was very good. I even enjoyed strolling the mall right next door when the rain was to much to go outside - not something I normally do when in vacay to Europe but I enjoyed it and bought some lovely clothes. We loved our stay.

We had a small fridge which was convenient.

Located within the walls of Óbidos, this boutique hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with a balcony overlooking the castle walls. It has a regional restaurant and a terrace bar. Guests are offered a Ginginha de Óbidos welcome drink upon arrival, served in the bar or in their room. Extremely helpful staff, from the reception, the manager and two very kind ladies in the breakfast area (Carla and Yeliam) and staff that helped us with the luggage. They made our stay very special. The hotel is perfectly located within the city walls. The room was cosy and breakfast delicious.
