Delfim Douro Hotel was in one word Fantastic, even with a minor incident, what the staff directly and very professional corrected. The moment you walk in, the staff is there. With all the friendly help and the pre-checking was quickly. Everything was in my eyes perfect. We loved also that the hotel helped employees with a handicap, to see the Hotel is not afraid to have employee in a in the wheelchair, who solved our little problem with all the professionalism you can get. The restaurant was great, good food for a decent price, good variety wine and loved the desert, Florest chocolate, you have to try it. :-)

The place is absolutely gorgeous if what you are looking for is a natural, relaxed atmosphere. We really liked the common breakfast table that gave us many good opportunities to speak to other guests - the breakfast is buffet style but has all you need incl fruit and fresh juice. You are free to roam the grounds and pick fruit to eat and you have several wineyards within 2km distance. The rooms were really quirky and good size, very clean and with a lot of small details. If you rent with kitchen you have all you need to cook or simply make your European style picknick dinner on the balcony with view to hawks and smaller birds flying overhead. The old rockwalls and modern isolated windows let you sleep in complete silence so make sure you leave a small crack in the old wooden blinds so that the sun will wake you up. We loved the fresh pool after the hot daytrips and you can buy cold wine from local wineyards in the reception if you forgot to bring some home for an evening glass.

This is a beautiful place to stay - the bungalow was spacious and beautifully furnished & equipped. The host, Margarida was wonderful and could not gave been more welcoming! Highly recommended.
