Relais Casali della Cisterna is set in two 19th-century building surrounded by a private park overlooking Lake Maggiore. It offers elegant rooms with lake views, private covered and outdoor parking and free Wi-Fi. I don't often take the trouble to post reviews, but the staff really deserve a positive review. They managed to pull off the perfect balance between casual and professional, between friendly and courtesy. From the reception desk to the porters. While I'm at it: very comfortable, large bed, spacious room, big bathroom. All very nice.

Bright and spacious, the rooms have elegant furnishings and parquet floors. Each one features an LCD TV with satellite channels, a minibar and air conditioning. The private bathroom comes with slippers and soft bathrobes. You couldn't ask for a better location or a better view of the lake! We were warmly welcomed and when we saw our room, we were amazed at the breath-taking view of Lago Maggiore. Almost every evening of our stay, we enjoyed the views and a glass of wine on our private balcony. We had a few meals at the restaurant as well. Our food was perfectly prepared and excellent, as was the wait staff. In fact, the entire staff–in both the restaurant and hotel– was accommodating, friendly, and courteous. This was the perfect end of our trip!

This is an absolutely lovely hotel with easy walking distance to downtown price well. The owner operator is very kind and friendly. The breakfast was very good proper cappuccino and espresso parking available.

Parking is free. Beautiful, quiet hotel with an amazing deck for lounging right on the lakefront. Amazing to be able to walk right out of your room into the deck.

Rooms and common lounges are all decorated with antique furniture, rugs and historic chandeliers, all giving a sense of history and nobility. Rooms overlook either the garden or the lake and some also feature a spa bath. Everything! It’s opulent, grand and luxurious

From common spaces to guest accommodations, Hotel Royal is tastefully furnished and boasts comprehensive amenities. it’s our second time in Stresa and my mom and i decided to come back to Hotel Royal, since a year ago we found it very pleasant. the entire staff confirmed our idea: everybody was helpful, professional, polite, joyful and friendly. it’s brilliant, everything is perfect. the rooms are clean and comfortable and most of them, or all of them, have a balcony or a terrace. i have to mention the spectacular breakfast that you have included staying here: it’s a continental one, you can have salty food, cakes, pies, fruits, yogurts, brioches, local jam, etc. Hotel Royal has a strategic position cause it’s near the dock where you can book a trip to visit the three islands. in case you want to relax at the hotel you can enjoy the pool, always clean and refreshing. in addition, there’s also a bar area where you can have an happy hour (we want to thank Mariella for being so kind and welcoming, she prepared very good cocktails for us). i want to thank again the entire staff for being the best, we will be back for sure!
