It was a birthday gift to a family member and I mentioned the special occasion in my booking. My family were excited to receive a welcome basket of goodies for their birthday and a room that was sea facing. The Manager called them personally to invite them to a complimentary dinner but they were full from the delicious goody basket. They were then offered a complimentary breakfast and were very happy with the range of vegetarian foods that was provided to cater for them. The hotel more than exceeded our expectation in terms of making it special for the family member. Will definitely stay at Coastlands when we visit South Africa again.

The design of the hotel is incredible, from the colourful interior to the great views of the gorge from the balcony. Alta was friendly and helpful at check-in, room was large, clean and comfortable. I've stayed in many hotels, but none quite like this one, it's an amazing place.
