Surrounded by peaceful scenery, with the sound of flowing water and the sight of abundant birdlife, it felt like the perfect escape from the busy world. Beautiful place to immerse in natural surroundings & especially the several waterfalls to feast. Halaal Wimpy is less than 5min away. Spar/Shoprite and so many other small convenient stores close by. Viewing of the waterfalls has to be carefully planned. As a wheelchair user, you cannot gain access to most of the falls. Take enough fluids wherever you go, it's really hot and humid. Don't think you'll find dinner on a Sunday afternoon, after 1 everything closes. Buy whatever you need Saturday. Some road conditions are terrible, but can be accessed by a lower vehicle. The accommodation is a wonderfully quiet place, and is really a small paradise. There is a beautiful waterfall on the property, which in our opinion is more fun to visit than the tourist attractions in the area. The staff at Sabie Star are incredibly friendly. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked, the linen was clean and we had a good night's rest. In the morning we got to the dining area late, and they stopped serving breakfast. A very friendly staff member did not hesitate to say that it was not a problem, she took our order and we enjoyed a great breakfast, specially prepared for us. We have then spoken to the management they have compromise to arrange the self-catering unit. What I don't understand is, the unit is expensive that the hotel room for 4 sleeper.
