We all loved George.

What wasn't closed for Easter was mostly booked out.
What wasn't closed for Easter was mostly booked out. Not much to do or see. Beaches overdeveloped or off limits to non residents. Not a tourist friendly town. George is well situated to give access to plenty of lovely...
George is well situated to give access to plenty of lovely tourist attractions. From there it is easy to get to beautiful beaches and do some mountain trips. E.G the Power Van trip up the Outeniqua Mountains. The Red Berry farm with the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere. Plenty of hiking and mountain bike opportunities in the George area. Home to the Outeniqua Country market, but yet close enough to other must visit places like Wildernis, Mosselbaai, etc. You are also spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping and stunning restaurants. It is a city with a town feel.
It is a city with a town feel. The people are friendly and helpful. The traffic is not bad and everyone drives in a civil manner. There are a lot to see, historical buildings and the Botanical Gardens, with an Italian restaurant and a Birds of Prey sanctuary was the highlight of my trip. Although there is not much crime in the town, the property is gated, with the best parking spots double-gated. Many restaurants are walkable by daylight, and Uber is active all day and after dark.
