South AfricaWe loved the farm and its location. It was exactly what I was looking for. Peace. We loved the experience of being on a working farm. We loved the citrus trees amongst the fynbos and obviously the waterfall. There are lots of birds on the property.
We would recommend this farm for people who would like to get away from the city's bustle.
I recommend a few nights at least. Please plan you stay with the weather in mind.

FranceNice chalets in a quiet valley where everything calls for relaxing. No wifi (but phone reception was fine), no noise, nice braai, private hot tub, the perfect place to hang out for a few days out of the city. The night skies are unbelievable. Nice hiking paths too to see the rock art and discover the orchards, with views of fantastic rock formations. Many birds, a friendly cat, tortoises... The chalets are close to one another but private, perfect for couples to spend a romantic week-end. Just make sure to bring your food and wine for the week-end, as the next stores are 40 kms away. The road was easy from Ceres, the road out towards Citrusdal was very nice too, just drive slow since it's untarred but it was in good shape. We really apreciated the basket of goodies from the farm, ended up buying everything in it because it was all very attractive and at a good price.

There is absolutely nothing to see in Citrusdal, according to our hosts. They sent us to Clanwilliam for the Saturday. I was the last day of the Wild Flower show, so we went and enjoyed it. Otherwise, we had to view orange pickers shopping or loitering in the streets. Not our chosen pass time anymore. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. We actually went that direction, from Cape Town, to experience the hot spring baths, but it was fully booked for the Friday and Saturday, and no day visitors are allowed. We, however got a room for the Sunday night, at a special price of R1600 for the two of us, at The Baths, some 18 km out of Citrusdal. Very expensive but superb! Albeit, also, strangely enough, no coffee or tea or refreshments awaiting you in your quite expensive suite. But the accommodation is stunning. So whenever you want to go flower watching, cart all your stuff along, the nice Westcoast people isn't giving away no free coffee :)Guest review byMarianneSouth Africa - 10.0

The healing waters of the spring. The rock pools are so great, relaxing ... your body and spirit are renewed after relaxing in the pool or rock pools. The absolute quietness are wonderful. Each property or house is designed so that you feel you are the only people around. Love the privacy and connecting with nature. I will never return as everything from the Maintenace round the pool, inside the chalet and outside was not done. Area in the reception was disgusting and open wires under the jacuzzi and outside the chalet after what seems to be a geyser that was replaced. No Wifi for 24 hours on arrival, no water for 3 hours, jacuzzi not working and tripping all the time, grass in the main pool area left very long during peak season TRULY A POOR EXPERIENCE AND I WIL NEVER GO BACKGuest review byArnold - 10.0

We absolutely loved our 1 night stay at this lovely little cottage set amongst beautiful surroundings. The added bonus was the hot tub and also having a tv. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and when we needed assistance in resetting our hot water cylinder which had tripped when there was loadshedding, someone arrived immediately to attend to it. Be sure to order your wood when you arrive. This was also delivered to us promptly. The bed was extremely comfortable and the lighting next to the bed was excellent for reading at night. Citrusdal is 20 kms from the resort and is a one horse town with nothing to offer tourism. Every street is full of potholes, and there is a very limited retail offering. There is Hot Spring resort about 12 kms outside Citrusdal but they do not allow day visitors.Guest review byBosch - 8.0
