    I was only able to stay overnight. The front desk person was really nice and very helpful. I had already done everything online so all I needed to do when I arrived was gey my room keys and add my guest's name.

    I was visiting a family member who was also visiting Winston...

    I was visiting a family member who was also visiting Winston Salem. We had some great meals in unique restaurants, took wonderful walks at a nearby lake and at Reynolda and in town. We went to the local theatre production of Prince of Egypt which was fabulous, went to the Bookmarks fundraiser and to the Moravian Museum. Had a wonderful time.

    The location is convenient to a variety of restaurants and stores as well as interstate 40. The property was very clean and family friendly with many local attractions nearby such as Tanglewood park, a miniature golf course, hiking at Pilot Mountain State Park and a nice park to get some exercise like swimming at Bolton park.

    Overall prices were okay.

    Overall prices were okay. One of the biggest concerns was how close the overhead power lines were located to many of the places (including the motel) we visited! It's my understanding that these present a health hazard, in addition to just being unsightly.

    I was born and raised in Winston-Salem and it has gotten a little better downtown but the homes in the urban areas are terrible. The hotels are very expensive for it not to have any entertainment or places to go like Greensboro or Charlotte North Carolina. The only good thing in Winston-Salem is the food and churches and some of those places have gone down since I lived there years ago. Winston-Salem could be a great place to live and visit if they had more to do there and less expensive hotels.

    A/C wasn’t working in the first room, water was streaming...

    A/C wasn’t working in the first room, water was streaming from the bathtub. 2nd room bathroom was crappy plaster was damaged. 3rd room the one we settled with rm 324 (I believe) the one queen bed base was broken so when my husband sat on the corner of it the whole base tipped up in He said was ok for sleeping since he sleepy on the opposite side and the plaster was damaged by the sink. There was no hot coffee in the lobby the first morning…we were told that wasn’t working too. We also reserved a room for my son and their first room the plaster was coming off by the sink looked bad. So they were given another room which was ok.

    we come to visit Winston same every 2 month for a business convention and they by far have the best staff anywhere. Even during the rush of checking so many guests in they keep a fresh attitude and a great smile. this crew is like the Chik Fil A of the hotel business. speaking of food what can I say about that INCREDIBLE breakfast and those OMELETTES are just to die for. Im looking forward to our next visit

    Nice staff, good place for the price The hotel was fine. The photos of the bedroom were in accordance with what was presented in the booking images. You can see that it is not a very new hotel (I can't say it is old either), but that they make an effort to take care of it and maintain it. The breakfast was ok but not exceptional.

    Beautiful historic building and very big room. The location was great, easy to walk everywhere. Staff at check in were very nice and provided great recommendations for dinner options. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its charm.
