El Travadore Motel is promoting its past to appeal to...

El Travadore Motel is promoting its past to appeal to travelers along the Route 66 romantic highway. Once upon a time, at the time, movie stars stayed at the motel in the 1940s and 50s. At that time, the El Travadore Motel was a well run and modern motel. Unfortunately, today, the El Travadore Motel is a run down motel. The 'theme rooms' are very small with bathtubs that don't work, ancient plumbing that blow water in your face, and old sinks and faucets. Did I mention the eccentric owner that will talk your ear off for 25 minutes when you check in. The office is totally cluttered with all kinds of stuff - I felt claustrophobic and couldn't wait to get out of the office. When I made the reservation on Booking.com, I was charged a high fee ($99), thinking that this was a great place to stay. The day I checked in, I was then charged another $25 for my pets as a cleaning fee? Cleaning? The room did not feel clean to me. The pool is empty of water. There is a totally creepy section of rooms further down the hill toward the canyon. These rooms are incredibly depressed and run down. Also, there are homeless that live in the canyon behind the complex. On one positive note, El Trevadore has one section of the complex that seems new - with multiple beds. These rooms look modern, but there are only four rooms? However, they were not offered as pet rooms. Definitely. I do not recommend this overly priced 'theme' motel. The past is the past, and the current owners need to fix up this motel!

I like Kingman it's a small town yet big enough.

I like Kingman it's a small town yet big enough. It is HOT during the summertime - but the nights are nice. I'm from a big city here you can see the stars that I can't in the city with to many nights. It's very easy getting around in Kingman.

Bigger than I had envisioned as I hadn't been there in 35 years! I did some exploring and it was a bustling town. I liked how the streets were laid out in the area we were in. We were in Kingman for a rest stop (2days) on our way to Grand Canyon West then back to Tonopah NV and found plenty of good food and places to fuel in the area (which is what we were looking for).

We were visiting family so just needed a place to sleep. We were lucky to have an arts and crafts fair right across the street when we visited. We like to go to Crackel Barrel to shop and the Diamond Desert Distillery and Inport store. Haulupai Lodge is a favorite also.

After spending the night we visited the visitor center and Route 66 Museum and scouted out a few of the murals. The staff were helpful and the museum very informative. The electric vehicles were interesting! The Buckeye Bullet 2.5 was truly unique.

Kingman lies on the old Route 66, there is a museum in downtown Kingman which covers the history of Route 66 whilst a long section of Route 66 runs north, sadly with no real landmarks. Downtown Kingman has shops and cafes whilst the railway station (Amtrak stop a couple of times a week) has a model railway.

This was a hotel we stayed at for one night while traveling from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon. It can be described as a typical American motel. Although the town itself wasn’t very large, it was a quiet place with an impressive variety of essential facilities. It’s a budget-friendly motel with convenient parking, making it a suitable choice for a one-night stay during a trip.

Kingman is a nice small town, the hotel is right off the busy roadway but close enough to good food and Grand Canyon. The fitness area was nice and clean and their breakfast area was large with lot of choice. The view of the mountains was a plus.

The theme of the hotel and the decorations on the outside. A concave mirror that was good for shaving.. There were doors available to close over the tv set.
