As an elder who grew up in Honolulu and returning after a decade abroad, I noticed that the culture has been watered down even more than I remember before leaving. Covid was probably the death knell of a previous vibrant economy. So sad. I see homeless who are obvious throwaways from other US states with their weird, crazed body motions (auwe!), a government that bends too much to negative forces but not enough to protect the survival of the local population. The food, beaches, locals, shopping, amazing stunning views, activities, ease of getting around, safety, so many great things to lists was amazing!
