Fun little town we were visiting for a wedding.

Fun little town we were visiting for a wedding. In addition to the wedding events, we walked the pier, went to the Antique Center, and even drove out to Delta College to see the universe from their observation dome. An unplanned delight was Beatles and Beans. A Beatles themed coffee joint! Mandy's Diner, Beaver's Pub, and Mulligan's Pub were also great places to eat or hangout.

I grew up in Bay City and have family in the area and go home often but more than a couple days is too long. There are three bridges in town (four but one is being rebuilt) and only one is free. The tolls are outrageous so avoid them if you can. The state park is much cleaner than its ever been and there are a couple of big antique stores in historic downtown. Outside of the Fourth of July Fireworks festival, Bay City Grand Prix (fka River Roar) and RibFest there isn't a whole lot to do unless you own a boat or like to drink, there are plenty of bars but the crowd they draw isn't as "safe" as it used to be, there are a lot of fights.

    I liked Frankenmuth very much!

I liked Frankenmuth very much! I found downtown to be depressing and had some very unsavory characters wandering around there that made me feel unsafe. I did however have an excellent dinning experience at a Japanese restaurant called Izakaya! The food and staff was fantastic!

We always loved coming to bay city until this latest trip.

We always loved coming to bay city until this latest trip. Now 2 bridges are toll bridges and it cost $35 to park our boat to go to the carnival. If going by car it's $25 to park. That's ridiculous!

    Beautiful town!

Beautiful town! Great nature walks with family at State Park nearby. Awesome dinner at Red Lobster and then movie theater within walking of hotel! Came back two years in a row to same hotel and will continue the tradition! Friendly staff and locals.

Bay City is a great town.

Bay City is a great town. It has many historic buildings and it's a beautiful area with the Saginaw river flowing right through downtown. They have great food and nightlife there, one of the best and largest thrift stores in the country, it's easy to navigate around and it's right off the expressway.
