The hotel made a great impression right from the start – it felt cozy and comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a nice view. The staff were friendly and helpful. Big plus for the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful beach, and tasty food. You can see that the hotel is both well managed and beautifully designed. Every detail is thoughtful and the hotel is in high standard. A perfect place to relax.

The breakfast and the food in general were delicious as was freshly made a la cart for each customer.The personnel were very polite and they knew well the English language.But what impressed me most was the hospitality and warmth of the hotel’s owners Tomek & Malgo.They were always present and assisted each client personally.Especially for people like me travelling solo I felt safe at that hotel. I am very satisfied with my stay! The flats are located in a very good location. There are many different facilities (e.g. a very large swimming pool). The room I had was large, clean and very comfortable. I must also thank the owners and the staff who took care of everything perfectly. They helped me in every situation. We stayed here for a few days after safari for our honeymoon, and it was the perfect location to relax. We stayed in a King Suite and it had an incredible view out to the ocean, and a perfect sea breeze to cool down in the evenings. The room was gorgeous, and everything about the hotels decor is beautiful. Food in the restaurant is delicious including breakfast, and the cooking class and reef walk were both really fun. Two pools to choose between, a beach bar, and directly on the beach. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay!

    Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

    Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

    Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with...

    Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family. Matemwe is near Mnemba island 🏝️ for swimming with dolphins 🐬 . We rode bicycles 🚲 around the village and the place felt very safe. There are few alternative places for lunch or dinner. Not too far from stone town.

    The snorkeling was a true adventure, with well-protected marine life and crystal-clear water. Spotting the dolphins was an unexpected bonus! Visiting the sea turtle rehabilitation center and feeding them was a special experience.

    Matemwe beach was huge and totally uncrowded - some days we were lucky to see 10 - 20 people pass by! Loved the Massai beach hawkers - friendly and laid back happy to have their pictures taken - no hassle or relentless chasing - once told 'no' they respected our space. Recommend a day trip to Nungwi for a completely different vibe and fantastic sunset. Matemwe is somewhat isolated and if you want to get around you need to secure the number of a local taxi driver - always bargain hard beforehand. Most hotels organise trips/tours but at a premium.

    It was a quieter beach which was nice which also meant not too many people hassling you to buy things. Those that did were respectful. Beach is nice but the sea depth is very shallow most of the day so swimming wasn't the easiest and there was a lot of seaweed when we were there.

    It’s very quiet, very few non hotel restaurants, overpriced food everywhere, can’t swim in the sea unless you don’t mind knee deep water. There’s no town, or town centre outside the beach hotels, so a long stay would be challenging if you want more than just lounging by the hotel pool.

    We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Sevi Boutique Hotel. A heartfelt thank you for the warm and thoughtful welcome! This little slice of paradise in Zanzibar allowed us to completely disconnect — the place is stunning, peaceful, and far from all the chaos. The setting is idyllic, the beach is beautiful, and the service was truly outstanding. Every detail was taken care of, and we really appreciated all the kind gestures throughout our stay. Thank you again for everything — we leave fully rested and with wonderful memories!

    What a gorgeous villa. An absolute paradise, right on the Indian Ocean. The decor is stunning with a wonderful combination of polished concrete and wood. Air conditioning in each bedroom and a welcome pool. Staff were very helpful with booking transfers. Plenty of restaurants along the beach, Zanzibar Queen being our favourite. A perfect spot for a getaway. Would love to go back.

    Absolutely stunning! The best all inclusive resort I stayed at. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and very professional. There are plenty of sports facilities available. The food is amazing and with great variety, 4 different restaurants to choose from. The location is perfect, nice lagoon just outside the hotel and beatiful beach. Much recommended.

    This hotel was the best we staying in during our trip to Zanzibar. The decor, service, atmosphere and location were exceptional. The highlight was the standard of the food and cocktails - easily best food we had. And the breakfast buffet! It was top class. We hope to come again to this special place.
