GOREME is a great little place , with loads to do .
GOREME is a great little place , with loads to do . We did plenty of walking , but the highlight is definitely the balloon ride , an experience of a lifetime . The only thing i didn’t like about GOREME , is the prices of food and drink , it’s ridiculously expensive compared to the rest of Turkiye , even Istanbul is a fraction of the cost . Be careful also when booking the air balloon trip , the initial price will be inflated, also book it nearer the time , as we were lucky . We booked it Saturday for the Sunday , the following 3 days flights were cancelled. I was surprised by how overly "tourist-y" Goreme was.
I was surprised by how overly "tourist-y" Goreme was. The restaurants didn't offer traditional Turkish food, everything was very overpriced, the whole town came across as flashy and overdone to me.
