Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

A super city! Friendly, great food and easy to get around. Free walking tour was a great way to learn more about this beautiful city. Recommend lovely food at Faz Frio. We had a wonderful time on the Pypas sailing wine cruise. We loved our visit to Lisbon.

A vibrant city with lots to see and do.

A vibrant city with lots to see and do. We mainly ate close to our apartment in Belem /Ajuda - Andorinhas - brilliant fish stew; Mestrias - excellent service; A Horta - stunning location and views; and Augusto Lisboa - amazing breakfasts! We bought a Navigante card and used buses, a tram and the train - we were so impressed by the transport options. We took a day trip with Buendia to Sintra which was very efficiently organised and we had a lovely guide. A sunset boat tour run by Rent-a-Boat was the highlight of our trip - amazing views and, again, a lovely guide. We also took a tuk-tuk tour to see Alfama and some brilliant viewing spots. And we took the train out to Cascais - another fabulous day.

It’s a great city to visit with healthy knees. 😂.

It’s a great city to visit with healthy knees. 😂. All strips were hilly and some streets more than other a bit difficult to walk with the cobble stones (or something similar) but slippery. The narrowed and curvy street we interesting an interring site. The people were very friendly and polite. Using the Uber app was the best thing we did. Was easy and the most of the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable about the places to visit. The wedding event was great and we enjoyed the stay in Lisbon.

It is a beautiful city with lots on offer. Great sightseeing and heritage, fantastic museums, beautiful culture. My favourite museum is currently closed (Calouste Gulbenkian Museum), but I visited the National Museum of Ancient Art, which was interesting as well as Museum of the Orient this time. Enjoyed an evening at the FX Factory, OutJazz Festival in magnificent Jardins do Palácio Marquês de Pombal, and a day trip to Sintra. Gorgeous pastries, nice cool beer and friendly people.

This was my second visit to Lisbon, and the city continues to impress. The locals are friendly, and while navigating Lisbon requires a fair amount of walking, exploring the Old Town’s hills is part of its unique beauty. Along the way, visitors will find excellent dining options and diverse shopping experiences. Overall, Lisbon offers a perfect balance of culture, charm, and hospitality.

It is so easy to get from Lisbon Oriente Train Station to the Red Metro line to the Lisbon Airport and then walk to the hotel. I had one large rolling suitcase. The short walk (200 meters) was across a main road, but there are crosswalks and, the best part, it is all downhill to the hotel! I chose the location because I had an early flight and the metro doesn't open until 6am, so I needed to be close to the airport and not deal with traffic problems, etc.

The hotel room was comfy and spacious. Had a balcony with furniture outside with the best view of the city. If you're looking for a place to stay away from crowded and noisy Lisbon, this is the place. Quite close to the airport and the city center. The room itself was really clean and they provided free bottled water to drink every day which is not the same in the other two hotels that I stayed in Portugal(Faro and Albufeira).

I truly couldn’t recommend this place more for anyone wanting to enjoy the very best of Lisbon. My stay was absolutely wonderful — everything was perfect. The communication with the host was warm, easy, and thoughtful. I felt so welcomed and comfortable, like I was at home. It’s rare to find a place that makes you feel this cared for. A full 10 out of 10. Thank you so much for making my stay 5 stars

Reception personnel were quick for check-in and check-out. Extremally helpful people, we lost our luggage at Lisbon Airport and my husband asked them to follow up the procedure and they did it in a very professional way until we received our luggage. Room was big and the bathroom shower one of the best, no water clogged and no water on the bathroom floor which I face in most hotels!
