Being like home - just even better. This is how I would describe our stay in Lantern boutique hotel. From the outstanding service, beautiful location directly at the beach, spacious rooms - especially the suite located on the ground floor with its own terrace. Everything is topped by it’s open kitchen where you can see the chefs magic happening. The meals here are all fresh made using herbs and vegetables from the property own garden. We had just breakfast booked but stayed for lunch/ dinners because it’s absolutely worth it! Prices are fair and location is top (Weligama bay is 10-15 mins away). If you’re looking for a relaxed stay with outstanding service this is your place. thank you so much for making that stay unforgettable!

My favorite spot was definitely the beachfront area right in front of Paradise Beach Club – calm waves, golden sand, and perfect sunsets. I also loved Coconut Hill, just a short walk away, with its panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees. Where I Ate- Most of my meals were at the Paradise Beach Club restaurant, which offered delicious Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood, and good international choices. For variety, Mirissa has some great little cafés and beach shacks nearby – I especially liked the fresh juices and seafood BBQs along the beach. Mum's Kitchen, Big Belly & All you can eat were equally good. Mirissa is very easy to get around. Most places are within walking distance if you’re staying near the beach. For slightly farther spots like Weligama or Galle, tuk-tuks are everywhere and quite affordable. we booked our car for the entire trip. things to do- Whale watching tours Sunset at Coconut Hill Beach hopping Surfing

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where tourism income trumps everything else - usually at the expense of the environment. So, if you’re looking for an idyllic escape to a pristine, tropical paradise, you’ll need to lower your expectations quite a bit. Unfortunately, the businesses lining the beachfront have been allowed to attempt to artificially hold back the sea, by building awful sea walls, sandbagging, etc. This has resulted in far less beach than there would naturally be. The other inescapable truth is that it’s quite polluted - mainly with discarded plastics (bottles, drinking straws, bags, etc.) and other rubbish. It really is heartbreaking to see, and it’s everywhere. Picking up a few bags of it everyday on my walks didn’t even make a dent! (This problem isn’t limited to Mirissa, by the way. It’s everywhere in Sri Lanka. Substantial regulatory change and investment in education are needed - now!) As a visitor, do your part and at least set a good example by not discarding your rubbish. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and welcoming, and there are quite a few great places to eat and enjoy a cold drink. I found the better restaurants on the main road rather than the beach. There are also plenty of lovely, small, family-run restaurants throughout the back streets that are worth seeking out.

I spent one night at a Coastal Villa in Mirissa, and it was one of my best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villa is situated in a calm and quiet area, yet it is within walking distance to both the town and the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The air conditioner functioned well during the extremely hot weather, and the staff were very helpful. Initially, we did not book the room with a meal included, but the staff were accommodating and provided a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes on short notice. I decided to extend my stay, and the villa staff easily fulfilled my request. I recommend Coastal Villa to anyone seeking a place to stay in Mirissa.

Mirissa was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, and a laid-back vibe but also plenty to explore, like whale watching and surfing. A great place to slow down and enjoy Sri Lanka’s south coast.

Mirissa is an over rated tourist destination. Overdeveloped with too many motels crammed into a small area and crowded beach ruin the setting. More popular with younger party generation rather than relaxing.

Absolutely a best hotel in mirissa. Rooms are spacious and spotless clean & comfortable bed. The location is perfect as it is center of the city and closed to beach and restaurant within 5 minutes. Staff are very helpfull and always willing to attend for guests needs. Swimming pool were amazing and quite in the hotel. They have a restaurant with the view of pool. And all these make you calm and without any doubt recommend this hotel 100% whether you re travel alone or with your family. I really loved my stay.

Nice air-conditioned private room with private bathroom. It has big King size bed. It's 5 minutes from Mirissa Beach. Breakfast was included. I had omelette with toast and salad and coffee. Hotel has also own restaurant downstairs. Owner Max is friendly and helpful guy. He let me stay until 6:00 PM without extra charge so I could take shower and keep my stuff in room because after I was going to Colombo airport. I would definitely stay again. It's great value for money. I can only recommend this place.

Amazing hotel, so happy we stayed here! Amazing swimming pools, facilities to keep you busy for when it was raining and an easy walk to Mirissa beach. Food was lovely and there were monkeys all around, which we really loved! There were little perks like a beach bag was provided and beach towels and bottled water each day for free. The lift was also working for us, so no issue getting up and down. The steps are tough, but a good workout too. Would definitely stay here again.

What a fantastic hotel ! The staff were so helpful and friendly. We had a sea view room which was well worth the little bit extra we paid. The breakfast was amazing, especially the fruit ! The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a really great stay, we wished we could have stayed longer ! A 5 minute walk along the beach or road took you to all the beach bars. This is a perfect hotel to stay in Mirissa and I can highly recommend !
