I recommend: Warabekan - Toy Museum; Jinpukaku Mansion (closed until 2029 but still a beautiful place to visit); Tottori Castle Ruins (the park has great city views) and UNESCO Global Geopark - Tottori Sand Dunes. Exceptional place with mountain and sea being side by side.
Exceptional place with mountain and sea being side by side. I got to see better Fall colors than Kansai region. Sand Dunes (small area) in this weather and geography is also unexpected, frankly the dune was taller than what I saw in Dubai. Flight taking off closer to sea shore and when you look at other side window, it is mountains. The place is a geological wonder in my view.Guest review byAnnapoorani - 10.0
One word- UNDERRATED!
One word- UNDERRATED! I had 5x as much fun here than expected. Sand Dunes? Sure, cool. But the list is long: the impressive Uradome Coast, the cute Hakuto Shrine for lovers, Chinese Garden Enchoen with cheap Chinese dress experience, Togo Lake surrounded by onsens, Mt Daisen dressed in its best autumn colors.... and everything is super fun! I can't recommend this destination more. Just brace for some challenging public transport. It's doable by buses etc. though. Use Japan Transit Planner app if Google Maps doesn't show you the route. I was here 5 days but I think 6 would be better (I wanted to see Shoji Ueda Museum of Photography and a yokai manga museum).Guest review byAntoinette XIJapan - 8.0
Dunes weee amazing.
Dunes weee amazing. But avoid summer days with no cloud cover. The sand gets insanely hot! The French’s renaissance house and gardens were great in the front of the castle ruins and well worth a visit.Guest review byLinda AnneJapan - 10.0
Was a great family trip.
Was a great family trip. We enjoyed a lot sand dunes and museum. Kodomonokoukoku park was also above expectations. The sea clean and nice. Spent there only 2 days, but wished we could stay a bit longer and see all the coastal line.Guest review byNataliaUkraine

The owner met us on the railway station and picked up (it was very late and we didn’t even expect to get easily to the hotel). Japanese-style breakfast, I already miss it so much. It was not only tasty but heartwarming. We discovered a lot of guides about Tottori (including Russian language). We laughed a lot and had really amazing adventures in Tottori. There is a bus stop close by too that can take you to Tottori city. The facilities are very clean and our room was just like the pictures. Bring your own towels as this is not provided.
