Amazing team with incredible service (e.g. free lift to the train station) and great breakfast. Nice private baths and pool with beautiful view to the sea. Awesome barkeeper at the pool bar.

What are delightful family stay. The pool was large, clean and with beautiful surroundings. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was very well located near Shimoda within walking distance or a very short drive to the town, a multitude of stunning beaches, and lovely hikes (walks) by the 7 waterfalls region. The washer/dryer was also quite reasonably priced at 100-200 yen per wash or dry. I wished we could have stayed longer. Of note, this is one of the few pools in the area that was open so early before the Jspanese summer holiday. We went in early July.

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel except it might be a little bit hard to reach. We went there by car so for us there were no problem and the hotel offer shuffle busses free of charge from the train station. We booked a room with private onsen and it was perfect with beautiful view over the ocean. The room was spacious, the included breakfast was good, staff was really friendly, we had a great time here. We went here during the low season in the fall/winter but I think it will be really beautiful in the summer as well since they have sitting places outside.

It was characterful and charming from the first moment. The pools and onsen were awesome and the location overlooking the beach was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the shuttle bus was great. The laundry was also helpful given we are travelling around.

The hotel is very well located and has a very efficient shuttle service from the Kawazu station: we were able to use it to drop our luggages in our room and go back to explore the Kawazu cherry blossom festival! The room is beautiful sea view. Public bath are very pleasant. All the hotel is adapted to children (welcome kits, high chairs, playing area, even the public baths are well equiped for them!). The staff is really nice and helpful. Thank you for this nice stay :)

Our huge room opened up to a spectacular view of the ocean. I was mesmerized! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on! It was heavenly. Highly recommend. Value for money.

The hotel seems very oldschool, which we found charming. The interoir was off age but everything was clean and fine. For the price and location i would stay here Again 100 percent. I quess the bad ratings are from People who is used to New hotels.

I don't think it stated that the owner stays in the same...

I don't think it stated that the owner stays in the same premises. The eco products' aim is good. Considering the owner stays there, the bath products were empty on the 3rd day, so I had to go and get non-eco products from the shop. The tonkatsu restaurant at the end of the road was excellent! Max Value nearby (supermarket) has an ATM, which opens till 11 pm was handy. Loads of restaurants nearby, but some won't take kids on premises, so I'd call up first.
