We parked at Times Parking next to Crown Plaza hotel and the parking lot charged us 3200 yen for over nigh parking. We found not place to clarify why such high as the signage said maximum was 700 yen for over night. My only purpose to come to Akita was to visit the Shrine of our Lady of Akita. The famous tears shedding statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I'm a catholic. That was my personal pilgrimage. I love Akita. People are polite and honest. They arr vwey helpful and try their best to communicate in English. The place is very clean and peaceful. Kind of a sleepy town.

Public baths are clean and properly maintained. A very short walk to the train station, and almost all of that under cover. Hotel staff had good English skills and were very helpful in organising a medical appointment, luggage forwarding etc. Akita itself is a very interesting town.
