For those travelers going to Sorrento, I would recommend taking a stop in Vico Equense. Lots of place to eat, shop and visit. If you don't have a car give yourself extra time getting to and from as taxis are scarce and the buses really don't follow a schedule even though one is posted. Vico Equense is a charming little town between Naples and Sorrento. It takes 20 minutes to get to Sorrento by train, from where you can easily reach Positano, Amalfi or Capri by ferry, and in an hour you can be in the centre of Naples by train. We had ashort visit and enjoyed the beautiful views.The nature of the coastline requires a long walk down from the town to access the beach but there are small buses between the beach and the railway station. Everything is here to enjoy your stay in Italy. Already at the entrance to the front door you will be greeted by art objects, tall ficus trees, flowers and authenticity of Italy. The room is excellent, clean, the glass ceiling and balcony were especially pleasing. Everything is provided here down to the smallest detail. The location is excellent, a very pleasant 5 min walk to the centre of the town and 10 mins from the train station. The hotel is overlooking the beautiful vistas of the sea, surrounding hills and the marina below. The staff were excellent, always very helpful and friendly. We spent most days at the beach club which was stunning and the staff there were again to be commended.
