The location is in the countryside, where the quiet is only interrupted by birds. It is perfectly relaxing. Breakfast was always great due to the quality of the food. The day before you select what you want. There is a restaurant on the premisses, a la carte or a daily selection from 2 aintipasta, primo and secondi dishes, which never failed to impress, satisfy and fill with joy. The house wine was outstanding. You could also order wine like Brunello, but why when at 5 Euro a 1/2 litre you had heaven. The owners eat what and where you eat, which speaks for itself. They and the staff are all very, very nice people. In 2 days I knew their and all the staff's names, and they mine. Everyone was patient with my limited Italian and took the time to teach me Italian words so we were able to converse within reason. Their recommendations where to go and what to see in the area, plus the map and list of places with travel times by car they provide, was super helpful, and made my stay all the more rewarding. This is a place I hope to return to stay, eat and enjoy because of the location, the food and the people working there. Furthermore, this place is 45 minutes by car from the Terme di Petriolo, which are easily accessible free hot springs, where your car, you and your things left on the rocks are perfectly safe.

Definitely a 10 out of 10!! - The hosts Katia and Fabrizio were super friendly and supportive throughout our whole stay - The breakfast is super delicious! Several home made things like jam, yoghurt or cake tasking really good! This place was the perfect choice to enjoy some romantic days in tuscany! The location is perfect, with amazing views. The staff was exceptional, with plenty of attention to detail. The breakfast was super complete, and offered high quality products of the region. It also offered daily homemade delicacies that enriched its variety every day. The room was super comfortable, with plenty of space and with enchanting details. The swimming pool is the cherry of the cake of this stay, perfect to cool down watching the sunset after warm days!

    Roccatederighi is a small walled town in Tuscany with mainly...

    Roccatederighi is a small walled town in Tuscany with mainly stone houses in the medieval parts, and a newer area with shops and other facilities in the lower part of town. It's a fascinating 'borgo' which is mainly residential and many of the houses have not yet been restored unlike so many walled towns in Tuscany, although it adds to the charm. The town is off the beaten track and not somewhere you come across while en route to somewhere else, although the beach at Follonica is about half an hour's drive away, amongst others, and you can see Elba and Giglio on a clear day if you walk up to visit the church at the top of the huge rock the town is built around. The medieval festival in early August is well worth a visit. At an altitude of 600m above sea-level, it means cooler evenings and nights and sea breezes help with the summer heat. There are a few 'trattorie' and bars in the lower town serving good local food and no shortage of places to eat in nearby towns, including a vineyard where you can taste the local wine and enjoy a good meal. We can recommend Trattoria Nada, and Osteria da Giannino for light snacks or pasta or a full Italian meal with really good local produce. Cars are not permitted in the old town so walking up is the only option, but after an initial steep rise the road levels out somewhat, only the locals are allowed to use 'Ape' cars for transportation.
