The city and island are treasures. We visited all recommended sites on the island, as well as the islands of Salina and Vulcano. Lipari is an excellent place as a base to visit all of the Eolian Islands. Bad weather prevented us from seeing the other four islands, so we wish we could have stayed a few more days. Lipari is really a great destination.
Lipari is really a great destination. The town is cool and is a great jumping off point to visit the other islands. For sure to visit Panaera an especially Stromboli by night. Bring you bathing suit. Lots of cool beaches even though many are rock. Strongly recommend going after the main tourist season. People are nice and the food and drink spectacular. Visit the castle for incredible Mediteranian history. The only downside is getting there and coming back. Lots to see and do. Hire a Vespa/car and explore the island. Lots of places to swim except at the Mariner. The beaches are pebbles/rocks, some are pumice grain but easily manageable. The views from the mountain tops are stunning. Such a great view to Vulcano island. Visit white beach for the day and hire a beach chair and umbrella. The restaurant / bar at white beach is awesome and not expensive. They even have a guy pick you up in a car and chauffeur you down to the beach and a back up. , you’ll need to book. Stay near the marina, restaurant /cafes and shops are so close , easy walking. Ferry terminal Easy ferry ride over to the other Aeolian islands, stay for the day. Walk to the crater on Vulcano or visit Stromboli volcano or just explore other islands on a day trip . Take a tour to the varies grottos. I completely fell in love with the island! The main town is charming, and the natural scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We did a hike with views of Salina Island, and it was simply stunning. It’s also a great base for exploring other nearby islands. I only wish we had a few more days to enjoy it all!Guest review byYelena

The staff are superb and could not be more helpful. The location is fantastic. Straight off the ferry to the apartments with the town bus stop 100 metres away. They even sent a main to meet us in the pier and carry our bag. The rooms have everything and the shared rooftop terrace with views over the sea was fantastic.
