FAQs about hotels in Venice-Lido

Chic Venetian Beach Resort

Spanning 11 kilometres between the Adriatic Sea and one of the most famous lagoons in the world, Lido is a narrow and long island located just in front of Venice’s Old Town. Beach resorts, hotels and private villas replaced the vegetable gardens 160 years ago that provided tranquil settings for poets and writers like Lord Byron and Thomas Mann.

Probably one of the first beach resorts in the world, its first facility opened in 1857 and soon became a success. Nowadays, it constitutes a peaceful suburb that claims its golden past once a year during the Film Festival, and offers a quieter setting for your accommodation than central Venice.

There are actually three different villages on the island. Lido itself is located in the north, and includes most of the hotels and the Venice Casino. The smaller Malamocco and Alberoni are situated to the centre and south respectively. The sea-facing side of Lido Island is a succession of sandy beaches, mostly belonging to different resorts and hotels.

Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta is the island’s main street, leading from the ‘vaporetto’ water bus pier to the sea. There are buses running on the island, while direct waterbus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport are also available.

A wonderful range of experiences among the islands of Venice-Lido. We loved Alberoni beach and the local coffee shop and restaurants on the Lido. Public transport was great. Incredible history and architecture, food and people.

A world away from Venice proper, with cars, beaches and light pedestrian traffic. The usual tourist hotspots are only a ten minute ferry ride away, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Your vaporetto pass can be used on the regular busses

Staying in the Lido was great if you like to get away from the touristy hot spots. The Lido was quieter and you have access to beaches for a swim to cool down. Lots of atmosphere in the bars and restaurants. Food was really good too. Plenty of boats top and from Venice itself.

Lido is a beautiful island that makes up part of Venice, but is not part of the main busy island. You can take numerous vaporetto lines (with beautiful views!) to get to the island, and once you arrive, it feels like a different world. On one side, you have the bay with views of the the main island and can see all of the boats coming in and out, and on the other side, you have sandy beaches! The island is peaceful, but still with tons of restaurants, bars, and activities! There are buses that run along the island, but it is also easily walkable to get to where you need to go.

Venice-Lido is such a quiet contrast to Venice.

Venice-Lido is such a quiet contrast to Venice. It is very easy to travel to and from the city each day or make it a 'two centre break'. Pleasant to walk around with good shops and restaurants. There is also a beach if that is what you are looking for.

Its a quieter and slightly cheaper place to stay.

Its a quieter and slightly cheaper place to stay. The bars and restaurants are nice. Pizzas are from €8 good place for families visiting venice. We got a ferry to the airport from the Lido which takes 1 hour and costs €19 each. Easy to buy tickets at the port very helpful staff and ferries tend to run on time. Recommend getting into Venice early to avoid the crowds.

Everyone, especially the woman receptionist ( Elena) were very very kind. Location was great, close to Vaporeto and the beach, a residential area where you can find several supermarkets, shops, a small department store. Great place to escape from tourists, especially in. On beach season. The hotel made sure that I had plant based milk for my coffee. Breakfast was of good quality. A lot of towels in my room. Heeting was working fine. Given the prices in Venice it was a good stay.

A very nice Boutique Hotel, decorated in old Venetian style with cute antiques looking details in the room. The all people who were working on reception were very friendly and helpful for us. The street where the hotel situated is pretty quiet. The beaches are in just 10-15 minutes wolk from hotel. There are lot of restaurants and cafes there. I was staying in Biasutti hotel already 5th time and sure coming again!
