Very central if you want to cycle the Greenway from.Newport out to Achill Island. It doesn't suffer from over=tourism. Pub food near the accommodation was good. Its a very pretty village in a great location and perfect for a couple of night's stay. Sharon the owner was very helpful..

we stayed there for one night because we were renting bike in Westport to ride on the Great Western Greenway bike path in Ireland. We rode the bikes from Westport to the coastal town of Mulraney. it was a beautiful bike ride. Lots of sheep and farm land, babbling brooks. The town of Mulraney was nice. the view was beautiful

Harry Clarke stained glass windows definitely worth a visit in Catholic Church, Grainne Uaille pub food excellent Guinness so good, walks for all abilities and ages and gorgeous beach each only 7km away . Met a herd of sheep on the road as well to add to the atmosphere of the place. Of course the greenway will let you cycle safely all the way to Achill.

Newport is a lovely quaint town close to both Westport and Achill island. A perfect base for a few days of touring the broader area. The town has a few nice restaurants and pubs, although some of the restaurants don’t open early in the week.

A really lovely short term break in a relaxed village. Very friendly atmosphere everywhere. Riverside only about 500 metres walk into the village and a very safe walk, so you can relax in the village for the evening and prepare your trips from there. Its also a very relaxing spot in Riverside itself with lots of sit out private spots by the river on the property.

Very clean and comfortable apartment. Newport is a great base in which to explore Ireland. The town itself is small and not really a tourist destination but it's close to Westport and other attractions. I would stay again. The beds are comfortable, smart TV so you can access Netflix etc on your nights in. Despite being on a main road the apartments are quiet and a good night's sleep happened every night.

This B and B was in the town of Newport just on the outskirts but in walking distance of the town. It had very good facilities and a great hostess. This was a good base for exploring some of the attractions of County Mayo.
