We self-catered during our stay, so didn't get to experience any restaurants or pubs in Miltown Malbay. The SuperValu conveniently close to our apartment had great quality and variety of locally-sourced food and could be used for parking when visiting the city center. We ate in The Bake House.
We ate in The Bake House. Friendly Professional Staff and good food. Fresh Fish Specials. Temporary outdoor area did the job. Met a Local truck driver when leaving the next morning for" Banner Steel" who was rude obnoxious and used foul language and jumped to an incorrect conclusion that I was from Dublin as I was in a rental car. I even called the company to see if they could get him to back up 10 meters so about six cars could get past. The Company was no help saying and I quote. Sort it out among yourself. The Driver refused saying I'm not f'ing moving I'm in no hurry, so six cars had to back up 50 meters over a hill to get traffic moving. I even called the local Police Station and they were unavailable at 10 am in the morning. Will not be rushing back anytime soon to Milltown Malbay. There's a tidy kitchen, good living area downstairs, beds are comfortable and the heat was turned on with the rainy weather. Easy access to the beach for a short walk, about a 10 minute drive from Miltown Malbay village for coffee/pubs/groceries and a 40 minute drive to the Cliffs of Moher.
