If I could give more than 10 stars, I absolutely would! Green Merta is a truly wonderful place to stay. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, centrally located, and just a short walk from the port. But what truly made my stay exceptional was the comfort, the bed was hands down the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on! Kadek, the owner, went above and beyond in every possible way. He helped me with my heavy luggage, even transporting it on a scooter to the homestay, and assisted me in buying discounted tickets to Gili T. He kindly arranged luggage storage for me and continued to offer generous help throughout my trip, from sharing fresh fruit as breakfast to personally dropping me off right at the boat the next day, even though it wasn’t expected of him. His kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made my stay unforgettable. I’m so grateful I chose Green Merta and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Padangbai. A huge thank you to Kadek for going the extra mile (and more!) : your generosity made all the difference 🙏🏽

Super convenient and helping. They helped us organize a shuttle from the airport that we could pay in card, we arrived after their regular Check in hours and they still welcomed us. The breakfast is brought in the room with a beautiful view and they dropped us at the harbor for our ferry with their motorbike, free of charge. Wonderful service!

Padangbai took me back in time to the Bali of old.

Padangbai took me back in time to the Bali of old. Its quite rustic and primitive looking in parts. Most of the restaurants are quite old. We only ate at our hotel OK Divers Resort, where the restaurant and food was very good. NIce place to visit but only a couple of days at most.

Contrary to some reviews of Padangbai being a dodgy back...

Contrary to some reviews of Padangbai being a dodgy back water town, we found it to be a hidden gem. Lovely beaches and good places to swim and snorkel. Much smaller than I anticipated and far less humbug and mass tourism than other parts of Bali. Would definitely recommend staying here a couple of days, especially if catching an onward boat to other islands in Indonesia.

There is a photo of Padang Bai in the right upper corner of this page. I wonder where it was taken because Padang Bai does not look anything like that! Padang Bai is a bussy port and the beach is not suitable for swimming! This is not a place to spend holidays.

Amazing location close to the harbour to take the boat to Gili islands. We checked in almost 3am in the morning because our flight got delayed and they were very comprehensive about it, Excelent breakfast, the owner is so helpful and kind. amazing rooms for only one or 2 nights. I strong recommend this place.

We thought we might need a night to stop over before getting...

We thought we might need a night to stop over before getting the boat onto the Gili islands but in hindsight we could have done it all in the same day. There is not much happening here so I do not recommend staying long, there are some nice cafes to chill at if you are here. There appears to be some diving schools if that is what you are looking for. Recommend Omang Omang restaurant and bar for nightlife, good food options and bands playing.

Very busy with travellers during the day, either in transit by ferry to and from the ferries or on diving/snorkelling trips. Quiet at night with plenty of places to eat. One or two nights is plenty for a visit

I’ve stayed at Harmony three times already and will definitely keep coming back. The location is great, the view is lovely, and the price is amazing for what you get. Annie, who manages the hotel, is incredible and does a great job. On my last visit, I lost my phone and wallet with money inside, and she made sure it was safely returned to me. I really appreciate the honesty and care. Highly recommend. Also I can highly recommend staying in Padang Bai a bit longer to explore the beaches, snorkeling, diving and local culture!

The staff are super friendly, our grab taxi dropped us at the port instead of the hotel and we messaged the hotel on here and they came and picked us up at no charge and brought us to the hotel. The pool is clean and facilities are ideal for a one night stay before getting a boat to Gili. You can walk to the blue lagoon beach as something to do during the day. I recommend booking the bot to gili through the hotel too as it’s cheaper than online and they take you to the port!

We had a very brief stay at Bali 85 Inn, arriving at midnight and leaving the next morning by 7.30am for the ferry to Lombok. But in the time we were there, we really appreciated the great service of the team. So much so, that when I returned to Bali from Lombok, I organised a driver through the hotel. While it was a super quick stay, I can recommend Bali 85 for a good stay if you're taking a ferry from Padangbai.

Bloo lagoon offered us a sanctuary from the busyness and noisy padangbai port. The wifi ws great for working and the views over the bay and mt Agung were spectacular. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet of healthy and big breakfast style fare that would satisfy all taste buds. The bonus was of course the decent espresso machine with staff that know how to use it! One of the best places I've stayed at in Bali.
