Could not recommend this hotel enough. EVERYTHING was simply excellent. The breakfast was amazing. We had the dinner only one time, and it was very good too. Rita, the sommelier, was amazing, gave us a lot of recommendations for local wineries to visit, and also the tasting with her was very educational. The room was clean and spacious, we had everything we needed and more

The hotel Golden Lake is a lovely hotel to stay, right in the marina complex, surrounded by cafes, shops and good restaurants. The room was of a good size with a comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection of various foods to choose. The spa is also well equipped with a nice sized indoor pool, and another unheated outside pool. There is also a good sized underground car park. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

    I found service in Balatonfüred uneven. The low point was restaurant Il Lago at the lakefront: despite looking inviting, the service felt dismissive and the prices were high for what we received. If you don't speak Hungarian, expect German to be the main language while English is less widely used.

    Getting around without car isn’t easy.Luckily for us Lua resort offered enough for us to do.We weren’t crazy about the restaurants on the promenade.Still we had a great relaxing time in Balantonfured.

    As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths.

    As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths. There is a beautiful promenade on the shore with stalls selling local products. You can rent a colorful boat to ride on the lake, or take a train for a half-hour ride around the city. There is always something going on on the promenade too. Highly recommended!

    A good location for visiting Lake Balaton.

    A good location for visiting Lake Balaton. Try to avoid August - especially late August. Property is generally fully booked/overbooked due to vacation season and crowds/noise are omnipresent - unless you like that sort of thing.

    Balatonfured is a beautiful place on Lake Balaton.

    Balatonfured is a beautiful place on Lake Balaton. The old town area was very impressive. Lots of big old villas and houses. with huge old shady trees. The port area was nice for strolling , lots of shops and restaurants, ferries departing to other parts of the lake. The strand stroll was wonderful , very scenic looking at the lake , lots of areas to sit , bike and walking paths. The gardens were well maintained and very colourful.

    Lovely town with lots of flowers and trees, very clean, tidy and safe even in the evening. Not loud even in the evening was very quiet near the beach. Preferred Kisfaludy beach (strand). Less crowded and a bit cheaper, also more facilities and better quality/selection of food. Borcsa restaurant has great food and service.

    Very well located in Balatonfured, everything was easy to reach by walking. Room was quiet and nice, a lot of options for breakfast and dinner. Access to pools and private hotel beach. Loved that room had net for bugs/mosquitos built into the doorframe, so we could keep the door open for fresh air.
