I liked the beach and people are very nice to guests. The rooms are big. There is an access to beach and pool. Pool is clean and maintained. You are greeted by helpful and funny beach stuff.

We absolutely loved our stay at Alkionides. It is family run and everyone was so helpful as we had to arrange to rent a car and send for a doctor at one point. The beach is beautiful. We loved the balcony off of our room and sat outside for our own little happy hour one evening. The food at the restaurant was excellent, we had the zucchini balls every day! Breakfast we also great with a wide selection of hot and cold food. Laundry service was handy, and we used the drying rack on the balcony for towels and some hand-washed items. We also enjoyed the pool. It really felt like a resort escape. In-room coffee service was nice. Great location and easy to walk to markets and shops.

Amazing place to stay in Platanias! There’s our overview in short: 1. Host: Kristina is the greatest hostess in the world. She is super friendly, gave us all the information we needed for the things we would like to do. We felt so welcome and all our needs and requests were met by her with so much kindness and her recommendations were extremely helpful for us! 2. Apartment: - located in the centre of Platanias with everything in very short walking distance about 3-5 minutes you get to supermarket with reasonable prices, bus station, restaurants, shops etc. - great interior design; - so clean; - very well equipped; - free WiFi connection; - amazing balcony with great view on the sea! 3. Sea: approximately 2 minutes by walk from the apartment. Sand and pebble beach with breathtaking view to an island with goats Kri-Kri. This is definitely the right place to stay if you're planning a trip to Platanias! We would happily come back to this beautiful apartment again and again!

    We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

    Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

    I don't usually like touristy places but Platanias had a lovely feel about it. Not too many people, although this may have been because we went in September. We visited the War Museum - definitely worth it. Also went to John the Hermit cave and monastery at Kissimo which were unbelievable. Beach was great and snorkeling trip fantastic and well looked after.

    Touristy beach town extending along one road with lots and lots of restaurants, bars, hotels etc. lovely to get away from the road onto the beach. Beach was calmer and more relaxed away from the town centre.

    It’s a great location with its own beach, but also a short driving distance to other fantastic beaches such as Falasarna, Elafonisi, Balos. A lot of food options. Not so much clubbing or night life.

    The beach is nice, one can enjoy both sunrise & sunset at it. Warm waters. You must have beach shoes, as it is mostly made of rocks. You can go around by foot or bus, which runs every 20-30 minutes. Platanias has a good variety of shops, bar, restaurants to choose from, but our favourite by far was the SUN RISE BEACH RESTAURANT. Great food, generous portions, value for money and absolutely friendly team.

    The property is modern with beautiful views, the pool is not part of the property you will have to pay to use it . It is very close to the beach and is in a perfect location for restaurants and bars. Only a 10 minute walk to the main square. The staff were amazing , Dimitiri the owner was very helpful and when asked supplied lots of suggestions for where to go and what to do in Crete. Would recommend staying here.

    This is an amazing little piece of Crete. The resort has something for everyone, and the Lissos Beach Hotel is perfectly located. Sitting on a beautiful beach with a lovely pool and beach bar serving world-class snacks and drinks. The rooms are modern clean and comfortable. But, the best thing is the brilliant staff. Georgia is the perfect host.

    Mrs Frideriki was very sweet and her son George was very helpful. He recommended many places to visit and good taverns to eat. The apartment is 2 mins walking distance from the beach, shops, cafe, taverns and bars. If ever in Crete again I would definitely book here to stay.

    Lovely start to our holiday on Crete. We had only booked a night, but if returning to North Coast near Chania would consider this hotel for a longer stay. So close to the beach, lovely room decor and service. Amazing bathroom, too.
